John Schneider débute sa carrière dans la célèbre
série "Sherif, fais-moi peur" (The Dukes of Hazzard)
où il tient le rôle de Bo Duke. Lors du casting, les
producteurs recherchaient un jeune homme dans les
24 ans et venant du Sud. John, qui avait en fait 18 ans
et était new-yorkais, leur fit croire qu'il était né en 1954
et qu'il était né en Georgie. La ruse fonctionna et il se
retrouva à conduire aux côtés de Tom Wopat la célèbre
voiture "General Lee".
Après la série, John a tourné dans de nombreux téléfilms
et s'est lancé avec succès dans une carrière de chanteur
de country. Il a, par ailleurs, participé à la création du
Children's Miracle Network, qui chaque année organise
un téléthon pour venir en aide aux hôpitaux pour enfants.
NOTES
• John Schneider a fait ses débuts de réalisateur en 1985
pour le dernier épisode de la série "Shérif, fais-moi peur"
(Episode 7.17). Il a renouvelé l'expérience en 2002 en
réalisant le téléfilm "Mary Christmas".
• John Schneider a 3 enfants (Leah, Chasen et Karis) qu'il
a eu avec sa deuxième femme, Elly, qu'il a épousé le
11 juillet 1993.
• Fan de courses de voiture, il concourt tous les ans en mai
au Silver State Classic Challenge avec l'acteur Jim Caviezel
(La Ligne Rouge, Fréquence Interdite) comme navigateur.
Leur voiture est un modèle identique au "General Lee",
la célèbre voiture de "Shérif, fais-moi peur".
